RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, on Wednesday visited Sialkot Garrison to pay tribute to the martyrs and reinforce the commitment to upholding their honor and dignity, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a press release.
During the visit, COAS laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and expressed deep respect for the sacrifices made by the Shuhada in service of the nation.
He emphasized that the martyrs hold a special place in the hearts of the Pakistani people and reaffirmed the State of Pakistan and the Armed Forces’ unwavering commitment to honor and respect them.
COAS Vows to Prevent Recurrence of Orchestrated Tragic Incidents at All Costs
COAS stated, “No one will be allowed to disrespect our martyrs and their monuments. They are a source of inspiration and pride for the rank and file of the Law Enforcement Agencies, Armed Forces, Government officials, and the people of Pakistan.”
He emphasized that any attempts to orchestrate tragic incidents in the future will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Furthermore, COAS reassured the nation that those responsible for bringing shame to the country on the Black Day of May 9th will be brought to justice.
He appreciated the efforts of under-command formations and commended their hard work, devotion, high morale, and professionalism.
During his interaction with officers and troops, COAS highlighted the importance of maintaining the Army’s professionalism and readiness to address complex internal and external security challenges, including propaganda warfare.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the Sialkot Garrison, the COAS was received by Commander Gujranwala Corps.
COAS’s visit aimed to instill a sense of pride and determination among the armed forces and the Pakistani populace, ensuring that the sacrifices of the martyrs are never forgotten. The commitment to safeguarding their honor and dignity remains a top priority for the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and the Government.
