COAS Meets Key US Officials, Lauds US Flood Assistance

WASHINGTON: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday lauded the United States for its relief assistance to flood victims in Pakistan.

During his meetings with key US officials including Secretary of Defense General Lloyd James Austin, National Security Advisor Mr. Jacob Jeremiah Sullivan and Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Ruth Sherman, the Army Chief said that assistance from US and other global partners shall be vital for rescue and rehabilitation of the victims of recent natural disaster in his country.

COAS also offered heartfelt condolences over the deaths and devastation caused by hurricane in Florida. He said that Pakistan fully understands the loss and pain of victims’ families as it is too suffering from similar effects of climate change.

Moreover, matters of mutual of interest, regional security situation and bilateral cooperation in various fields also discussed in the meetings.

The two sides agreed that Pakistan and US have history of cooperation and it will be furthered through trade, investment and economic ties.
