RAWALPINDI: General Sir Patrick Nicholas Yardley Monrad Sanders, the Chief of General Staff (CGS) of the UK Army, held a meeting with General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, at the Generals Headquarters (GHQ), as stated in a press release by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Upon his arrival at GHQ, CGS UK Army paid tribute to the martyrs by laying a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A well-presented contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a guard of honor to the esteemed visitor.
The meeting between the two military leaders revolved around regional security concerns and topics of mutual interest, ISPR stated. The discussions aimed to enhance understanding and cooperation between the armed forces of both countries.
CGS of UK Army Lauds Pakistan Army
ISPR stated that during the meeting, the visiting dignitary commended the sacrifices and achievements of the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism and their efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.
Prior to meeting the COAS General Munir, the CGS UK Army had also called on General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
