ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) led government on Thursday rejected the recent verdict by the Supreme Court of Pakistan to block the execution of the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure bill 2023.
Government rejects SC’s Decision on Judicial Reforms Bill
According a joint statement issued by the ruling coalition, it was the first time in the country’s history that “a law had not been enacted yet, and the apex court, with a bench, stopped its execution”.
The PDM led coalition government called this move against the authority of the parliament and constitution and termed it as an “assault on the Federation”.
The coalition partners called it an open example of “conflict of interest and a one-man show episode that would go down as a dark chapter in the country’s judicial history”.
The statement added that the reservations of the Pakistan Bar Council and the Provincial Bar Councils were proved correct and hoped that the legal community of the country would also take notice of this grave mockery of the Law and Justice.
The ruling coalition declared that it was hoping that the legal community would also raise their voice for the observance of the principles of justice and that the ruling political parties would make a strategy to bring justice to the justice system.
According to the joint statement, the ruling alliance would also formulate a roadmap for the future with consultation and promised that the parliament and its authority would be defended and protected. The ruling political parties would strongly resist this injustice and disapproved it.
The coalition government called for the observance of the principles of justice and the defense of the democratic rights of the people in the country.
