NEW YORK: The ‘Clinton Global Initiative’ will announce the launch of the CGI Ukraine Action Network, as well as numerous financial pledges, to support non-profit organizations working in the country, as the annual conference opens in New York on Monday.
The CGI Ukraine Action Network is the product of a collaborative effort between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska, initiated last year. This newly established organization, to be formally introduced on Tuesday, has been conceived with the purpose of mobilizing existing CGI partners and welcoming new leaders from around the globe. Together, they will craft and fund fresh initiatives designed to benefit the Ukrainian population, as outlined by CGI. Expect an array of financial commitments dedicated to Ukraine to be unveiled on Tuesday as well.
Under the overarching theme of “Keep Going” for this year’s Clinton Global Initiative, Hillary Clinton, former President Bill Clinton, and Clinton Foundation Vice Chair Chelsea Clinton have committed to bringing together political, business, and philanthropic leaders. Their objective is to build upon the momentum generated by the conference’s return last year after a six-year hiatus.
In a letter addressed to the conference community, the Clintons emphasized that “the focus will be on what we can do, not what we can’t, and will highlight how even seemingly small actions, when taken together, can turn the tide on even our most persistent challenges.”
