KARACHI: Classical and folk dancers mesmerized audiences on the 18th day of the World Culture Festival at the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) in Karachi, delivering an enthralling show of dance forms from Pakistan and beyond.
The Dance Junction Night brought together an array of classical, cultural, and folk performances, leaving the audience spellbound by the beauty and energy of the art.
The event featured an eclectic mix of dance styles, including the graceful Khattak performances by renowned dancers Night Chaudhary and Waqar Samrat, who transported viewers to the rich history of South Asian classical dance. Their poetic movements and intricate footwork were a highlight of the night.
Following their performance, classical dancers Zahida Noor and Mani Chao wowed the crowd with their elegant and refined dance routines. The evening continued with a vibrant display of folk dances performed by various groups, including Abdul Ghani Group, Waqas & Rohit Group, Bhit Shah Matka Group, and the Sajid Garba Group, among others.
The performances were supported by live music, with DJs like John and Master Ghulam Hussain adding to the energy of the evening. Spectators, both locals and foreigners, were treated to an immersive cultural experience, showcasing the diversity of Pakistan’s dance traditions.
The festival, which spans several weeks, has drawn more than 450 artists from 40 countries, creating a global celebration of art and culture at ACP Karachi. With performances ranging from music to dance, the festival will continue until November 2.
The day before, musicians from Spain, Pakistan, Ireland, and the United States set the stage on fire, keeping the audience on their feet during a vibrant concert on the 17th day of the festival.
