ISLAMABAD: The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on Friday called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
During the meeting, the CJCSC felicitated Asif Ali Zardari on assuming the office of the President of the Pakistan, according to a statement released by the President Secretariat.
The CJCSC briefed the President about the security situation of the country and the operational preparedness of the Armed Forces.
He said that the Armed Forces had the capability to effectively deal with internal and external security challenges.
President Appreciates Pakistan’s Armed Forces
President Zardari commended the role of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in defending the national frontiers as well as their contributions towards the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
The president said that he had complete confidence in the security forces of the country to successfully overcome the internal as well as external security challenges.
Both expressed the resolve to eradicate the scourge of terrorism with the support of the nation.
