CIS Leaders Convene at Informal Summit in Saint Petersburg

MOSCOW: The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has initiated its traditional informal summit in Saint Petersburg, as leaders from member countries gather for discussions and collaborative engagements.

Hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the summit includes the participation of leaders from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The summit’s informal nature provides a platform for discussions and strategic interactions among the CIS leaders. The meeting commenced with an engaging excursion to the Palaces and Park Complexes of Saint Petersburg, fostering a shared cultural experience.

On the agenda for the leaders is a visit to significant cultural landmarks, highlighting the rich history and heritage of St. Petersburg. The itinerary includes visits to the Pavlovsk Museum, the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum, and the renowned Peterhof Palace.
