GOA, India: Cricket icons Chris Gayle, Jacques Kallis and Shane Watson are set to return to action early next year, joining a line-up of 90 former international stars who will feature in a new T20 event scheduled from 26 January to 4 February in Goa.
The event will run from January 26 to February 4, 2026, at the new 1919 Sports Cricket Stadium in Goa, bringing together 90 former international stars across six franchise-based teams.
Former Australian captain Michael Clarke has been named League Commissioner, signalling a professional and well-structured launch.
Clarke expressed pride in returning to a cricket-loving nation and highlighted the league’s blend of entertainment, rivalry, and high-level cricket.
“This league will deliver unforgettable moments and a platform to celebrate the game with old friends and fierce rivals,” Clarke said.
Gayle, famed for his T20 prowess, spoke of reconnecting with familiar colleagues and rivalries, noting that the event would evoke some of his best memories.
Kallis expressed eagerness to feel like a player again and to enjoy the simple rhythm of the game.
Watson stressed the chance to reunite with peers and create new memories in Goa, while Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, Steyn, and others are among the confirmed participants, ensuring a star-studded edition from the outset.
The league’s format will feature six franchises, emphasizing a fast-paced, entertaining brand of cricket designed to appeal to fans seeking both nostalgia and high-quality competition.
