Chinese Vice President Wraps Up Malaysia Visit with Focus on Belt and Road Collaboration

GEORGE TOWN: China and Malaysia have affirmed their commitment to enhancing high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road initiative. 

The Chinese Vice President Han Zheng concluded his official visit to Malaysia on Saturday, during which he met with Malaysian Supreme Head Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah in Kuala Lumpur and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya. 

During meetings, Han emphasized the longstanding friendship between China and Malaysia as neighboring nations. He expressed China’s dedication to collaborative Belt and Road efforts, aligning with the shared vision of building a community with a shared future.

The focus is on advancing the implementation of each country’s national development plans and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership.

China Signals Enhanced Collaboration with ASEAN, Malaysia 

Han highlighted China’s readiness to intensify collaboration with neighboring countries, particularly those in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including Malaysia. The goal is to foster sustainable prosperity and stability in the region through practical cooperation in various fields.

Sultan Abdullah, in response, extended congratulations to China for its significant achievements in Belt and Road construction, acknowledging the positive developments stemming from the collaborative efforts between the two nations.
