HANGZHOU (Zhejiang): Chinese President Xi Jinping and Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda met in Hangzhou, China, reaffirming the strong partnership and cooperation between their countries.
Chinese President Xi Jinping held a significant meeting with Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda in Hangzhou, the capital city of China’s Zhejiang Province. The meeting highlighted the exemplary relationship between China and Nepal, emphasizing the principles of equality and mutual benefit between nations, regardless of their size.
President Xi Jinping stressed that China and Nepal serve as partners and opportunities for each other’s national development and prosperity. He emphasized the importance of understanding and supporting each other on issues related to their core interests and major concerns, underscoring the need to continually strengthen the political foundation of bilateral relations.
Significant progress has been made in Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries, with the Trans-Himalayan Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Network taking shape. President Xi urged both sides to further enhance infrastructure connectivity and transit transportation cooperation. This collaborative effort aims to assist Nepal in its transformation from a landlocked country to a land-linked country in the near future.

China expressed its willingness to bolster multilateral coordination with Nepal, safeguard the common interests of both nations and other developing countries, and contribute to the creation of a community with a shared future for all of humanity.
Prime Minister Prachanda commended President Xi as a visionary global leader and a dear friend to all Nepalese citizens. He emphasized the strong bonds of friendship and partnership between Nepal and China, founded on understanding, reliance, and support.
Prachanda reaffirmed Nepal’s steadfast commitment to the one-China policy, emphasizing that both Taiwan and Tibet are integral parts of China’s territory. Nepal stands firm in not allowing its territory to be used by any force to undermine China’s sovereignty and security.
Furthermore, Nepal expressed its appreciation for the Belt and Road Initiative and pledged active participation in Belt and Road cooperation. The construction of the Trans-Himalayan Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Network was also highlighted as an area of focus.
Prime Minister Prachanda expressed confidence that the Hangzhou Asian Games would be a resounding success and contribute to mutual understanding and friendship among the people of Asia.
The meeting was attended by senior Chinese leaders, including Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Wang Yi, and Shen Yiqin, underscoring the significance of this diplomatic engagement in strengthening bilateral relations between China and Nepal.
