RIYADH: Exporters and traders from Saudi Arabia appreciated the recent trade development between Saudi Arabia and China and termed it the opening of a new trade era. In a press statement received here on Friday, amid the official visit of the Chinese President Xi Jinping to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Export Development Authority (Saudi Exports) Abdulrahman Al-Thukair appreciated the strong economic relations between Saudi Arabia and China and termed it as a reflection of the depth of the strategic partnership between the two countries, based on nonstop coordination and efforts to develop trade exchange.
He hailed the growth and development of the volume of trade exchange between the two countries amid the visit of Chinese President’s visit while adding that China is one of the Kingdom’s key trade partners, as the total non-oil exports from Saudi Arabia to China reached SR36 billion last year, mainly petrochemicals, which reached to SR31.7 billion, and “minerals”, which amounted to SR2 billion.
Vision 2030 plan of Saudi Arabia Amid Chinese President Visit
The CEO added the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 gave the bilateral ties a distinct economic stimulus that enhances the vision’s goals of diversifying national income sources by boosting the share of non-oil sectors and promoting non-oil exports, adding that the vision contributed to opening several areas for giant mutual investments in different sectors.
The CEO stressed that the trade and economic relations between the two countries are moving at an accelerated pace towards more cooperation and common understanding in various fields, stressing the continuation of efforts to push these strategic economic and trade ties, and expand and diversify them to include new areas of trade, investment, and knowledge. – APP
