BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping has highlighted the need to develop new quality productive forces tailored to domestic conditions for high-quality development, amid a new round of industrial and technological transformation.
He expressed these remarks while participating a deliberation with his fellow deputies from the delegation of Jiangsu province at the 2nd session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC). President Xi cautioned against herd behavior in developing the new quality productive forces, local media reported.
He called for selective promotion of new industries, and new driving forces based on domestic resources, research conditions and industrial foundations, according to China Daily. The Chinese leader also highlighted the significance of leveraging new technologies to upgrade traditional and local industries, promoting the high-end and green transformation of industries.
President Xi first suggested the concept of new quality productive forces during an inspection trip in Heilongjiang province of China.
President Xi told the delegation that Jiangsu has favorable conditions and capacities for developing new quality productive forces in the area. He further said that efforts should be made to continue consolidating and enhancing the positive trend of economic recovery and to boost further the confidence of the entire society in development.
