LAHORE: Former President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Iftikhar Ali Malik, stated on Monday that Chinese Premier Li Qiang’s four-day visit to Pakistan represents a significant milestone in strengthening the bilateral economic and trade relations between the two nations while reinforcing their enduring bonds of friendship.

In a statement, Malik emphasized that the visit underscores the unwavering friendship that has defined China-Pakistan ties for decades. He noted that both countries share a bond described as “higher than the mountains and deeper than the sea,” and that Premier Li’s visit is poised to solidify these connections even further.

He highlighted that the visit would enhance cooperation across various sectors, particularly in trade, infrastructure development, and energy projects. As Pakistan’s largest trading partner and a key player in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), China has already invested billions in the country. Malik asserted that this visit will further bolster these economic initiatives, promoting mutual growth and development.

In addition to trade discussions, Malik stated that the visit would reaffirm the strategic partnership and political cooperation between China and Pakistan. He described Premier Li’s visit as a symbol of the steadfastness of their friendship—an enduring relationship built on mutual respect, trust, and shared interests. He concluded by emphasizing the commitment of both nations to work together towards a prosperous future.
