ISLAMABAD: Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang on Monday held an important meeting with Pakistan’s military leadership and discussed bilateral cooperation, especially in the defence sector.
The Chinese Premier is on a four-day official visit to attend the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs were present in the meeting.
Both sides during the meeting reiterated to further strengthen and expand the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China. Issues pertaining to defence and terrorism also came under discussion.
The Chinese Prime Minister acknowledged the role of Pakistan’s armed forces in the war against terrorism and assured China’s full support and assistance to Pakistan in this war.
