Chinese Plant Fire: Xi Orders All Out Efforts for Rescue

Chinese president directs to rescue and treat injured.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has ordered all possible efforts to save and treat those injured after a fire broke out Monday afternoon at an industrial plant in central China’s Henan province.


Xi also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China and chairman of the Central Military Commission, issued the directive immediately after the incident, urging them to put people’s lives first.

The fire broke out around 4:00 p.m. on Monday at the factory of the trade and commerce industry in Anyang City and left 38 people dead and two people injured.

Xi called for efforts to find out what caused the incident and hold those involved accountable according to the law. All relevant regions and departments should take their responsibilities for job security seriously, check and correct all kinds of hidden risks and dangers, and prevent and contain serious and serious accidents, Xi said.

Xi Orders All Out Efforts for Rescue

The Ministry of Emergency Management sent a team of workers to Henan to lead the rescue operation. Rescue at the site, treatment of the injured, and investigation into the cause of the incident are ongoing.
