BEIJING: Chinese flood control authorities have urged efforts to avert autumn floods in some major regions of the country, local media reported.
The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, and the Ministry of Emergency Management said that heavy rains are forecast in Chongqing, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Henan, and Hubei.
The authorities asked local departments to stay on alert to minimize the damages of floods in the key areas of the country.
Local media reported that work should be done to further strengthen emergency response to prevent flood-related incidents.
