Chinese Investors Want to Invest in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Chinese investors have expressed special interest in investing in Pakistan due to the efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), local media reported on Friday.

According to Radio Pakistan, under a comprehensive roadmap for relocation of Chinese industries to Pakistan, partnerships will be developed with the Chinese firms to move their textile, leather, plastic, surgical, medical equipment and renewable energy industries to Pakistan.

A Chinese solar panel company will set up a solar panel assembly facility at Port Qasim, Karachi.

Radio Pakistan reported that Xiamen Sino-Pak International Investment Company has showed its desire to establish an electric bikes, scooters as well as tricycle assembling factory in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which will bring innovation to public transportation system at local level.

Similarly, China’s smart metering and energy management expert firm Hexing Electrical has expressed interest in investing in renewable energy sector in Pakistan.

According to the vision of SIFC, the establishment of new factories will provide employment opportunities in Pakistan and increase exports.
