ISLAMABAD: By means of video links, Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Czech President Milos Zeman via video link on Monday. According to Xi, in order to boost Chinese-Czech ties, he and President Zeman has met numerous times to review areas of mutual relations and governance experience in their own countries.
According to Xinhua news agency, Xi said that the two countries have promoted mutual trade and economic ties and exchanges of government personnel.
Xi maintained that over the years Czech exports to China have tripled while during the years between 2013 and 2019, the number of Chinese tourists to the Czech Republic increased by 250 percent.
Xi while terming Czech Republic an important strategic partner said he was interested in working with the Czech side to better mutual ties that remain steady for many years to come.
Chinese, Czech presidents review mutual relations
Regarding relations between Europe and China, Xi said Beijing will carry out more practical step that better cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC).
Xi stressed China’s European policy maintained a steady course and expressed his wish that the Czech side will keep on actively promoting China-CEEC ties and aid in keeping China-Europe ties healthy.
Czech President Zeman said that his country was willing to make combined efforts with China to better cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, and investment, resume personnel exchanges, overcome the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, and bring great vitality to Czech-Chinese relations.
Zeman added that the Czech Republic intended to play an active part in promoting the healthy development of Europe-China ties.
