According to local media reports, on Sunday, a special humanoid robot “reporter,” standing at 1.6 meters tall and weighing 45 kilograms, was seen interviewing with a microphone. This scene drew a crowd of bystanders.
“Special correspondent”
It is the first time a humanoid robot has joined as a “special correspondent” to cover the Shenzhen “two sessions.”
The Leju “Kua Fu” robot is the first domestically developed open-source humanoid robot capable of jumping and adapting to multiple terrains.
Earlier, China’s Xinhua News agency had unveiled a virtual newsreader sporting a sharp suit and a somewhat robotic voice.
Xinhua News said the presenter “can read texts as naturally as a professional news anchor.
Sogou, a Chinese search engine, had played a role in developing the system.
“I will work tirelessly to keep you informed as texts will be typed into my system uninterrupted,” says the presenter in an introductory video.
“I look forward to bringing you the brand new news experiences.”
