BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping has congratulated Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the new Emir of Kuwait, and pledged mutual efforts to promote bilateral relations further.
Xi said in his message that China and Kuwait made remarkable progress in bilateral ties and enjoyed profound traditional friendship since establishing diplomatic relations more than 50 years ago.
He stated that both countries have consistently and strongly supported one another on matters about their respective core interests. He also mentioned that positive progress had been made in bilateral exchanges and cooperation in several fields and that the friendship between the two peoples has been strengthened. —APP
