ISLAMABAD: A ceremony to unveil the establishment of the Sino-Pak Gandhara Research Center of Soochow University in the Chinese province of Suzhou and that of the International Students Training Base was held on Thursday, both online and offline.
Li Xiaofeng, Prof. Safdar Ali, National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Pakistan and Expert of Gandhara Civilization, Cao Wei, Dean of the School of Chinese Language & Literature of SCU, Hussain Haider, Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai, and Xiang Yang, Director of the Chinese Studies Center, NUST, spoke during the event.
This initiative is part of an SCU-NUST joint collaboration that is an outcome of a recently inked MoU.
Gandhara showcases heritage shared by Pakistan, China
The aim of the Gandhara Research Center is to showcase Art, which represents a cultural heritage that both Pakistan and China share.
Apart from this, the educational center will organize joint international research projects on different facets of art, history, and culture.
Additionally, the aim of the Center is to boost mutual academic and cultural cooperation.
