BEIJING: A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday that relevant members of the international community need to take practical steps and make efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire to avoid more Palestinian casualties in Gaza.
It has been over 5 months since the Gaza conflict broke out. The humanitarian situation on the ground has become extremely worrisome. The struggling “Dar Al-Shifa Hospital” is the epitome of the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Lin Jian said during his regular press briefing.
He said that currently, the top priority is to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, do everything possible to protect civilians, ease the humanitarian crisis, and avoid more casualties.
Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
As per media reports, the Palestinian-Israeli war, now in its 164th day, has martyred over 31.7 thousand people and injured 73.7 thousand others in Palestine.
On Monday, Israel started a military operation at Dar Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest medical facility in the enclave, with Palestinian journalists arrested by Israeli troops during their raid.
