ISLAMABAD: China has expressed interest in investing in Pakistan’s nuclear energy sector, as learned on Friday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a China National Nuclear Corporation’s delegation by Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese embassy Pang Chunxue, in which it showed its plans with him.
The federal ministers Ishaq Dar, Khurram Dastagir, Ahsan Iqbal, PM’s Adviser Ahad Cheema, and Special Assistants Tariq Bajwa, Tariq Fatemi, and Jahanzeb Khan also joined the meeting.
PM welcomes Chinese interest
The premier welcomed the interest shown by Chinses delegation to invest in the nuclear energy sector in Pakistan.
He said that the inauguration of K-3, the 3rd unit of Karachi Nuclear Power Plant on Thursday with the support of China, would help Pakistan overcome its energy problems.
He said the bilateral strategic ties spanned over decades and would continue to cement with time.
