China, Saudi Arabia Strengthen Strategic Partnership in Digital Economy

RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has signed a strategic partnership agreement for cooperation in the field of the digital economy with China as part of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s official visit to the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Information Technology and Communications, Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha and Chinese Minister of Information Technology and Industry, Wang Zhigang, signed the agreement in the presence of several officials from both countries.

The collaboration creates a framework for cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia, covering the fields of research, digital economy, information technology, and communications and innovation in emerging technologies.

The deal also covers cooperation in the fields of quantum information technology, artificial intelligence, and advanced computing, in addition to smart equipment and robots, and works to develop their technologies and applications for industrial and commercial purposes.

Moreover, this partnership memorandum aims to enhance the two friendly countries’ cooperation in the modern generation of emerging and mobile communications technology.

The Chinese and Saudi sides will implement the terms of their collaboration by exchanging experiences and information, activating visits between specialists and experts from both countries, and organizing seminars, workshops, and conferences.
