BEIJING: The meteorological authorities in China on Monday renewed a blue alert for rainstorms on July 24 and July 25.
According to the National Meteorological Center, heavy rain or rainstorms are forecasted to hit parts of Jiangxi, Heilongjiang, Tibet, Sichuan Basin, Chongqing, Guizhou, Yunnan, Hubei, Hunan, Zhejiang, and Fujian from 8 a.m. Monday till 8 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the meteorological center, some areas may encounter severe convective weather, including gales, thunderstorms, and heavy rainfall ranging from 30 to 70 mm per hour.
It has urged local authorities and citizens to take the necessary safety measures. While drivers have been warned to be vigilant and cautious owing to road waterlogging and traffic delays, schools and kindergartens have been requested to safeguard the safety of students and youngsters.
