China Plans 6G Technology for Industrial Growth

BEIJING: China’s top industry regulator has announced plans to intensify research and development efforts towards 6G wireless technology and launch an “artificial intelligence plus” initiative aimed at utilizing AI to drive new industrialization, according to statements made during the ongoing two sessions in Beijing.

Jin Zhuanglong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology for China, highlighted the country’s commitment to advancing the integration of information technology and industrialization.

He emphasized the importance of enhancing information infrastructure, including the construction of 5G networks and computing capabilities, to empower various sectors with cutting-edge technologies.

Efforts will focus on revitalizing traditional industries and facilitating their transition towards high-end, intelligent, and environmentally sustainable practices, reported China Daily.

Jin emphasized the need to strengthen key industries to maintain their competitiveness globally, while also nurturing the growth of Chinese manufacturing brands with international influence.

Furthermore, plans include the establishment of additional national manufacturing innovation centers, the development of major advanced manufacturing clusters, and the creation of model zones for new industrialization, Jin added.
