GILGIT/ISLAMABAD: The China-Pakistan Youth Exchange Community has distributed 1,700 packages of food, quilts, tarpaulins, and blankets among the flood-hit people of Gilgit-Baltistan. Relief items were distributed in the areas of Gilgit, Khunjerab, Ghizer, Nagar, and Hunza. The community also distributed materials to 400 affected families in Nagar district of GB.
The China-Pakistan Youth Exchange Community visited the region to assist the flood-hit people in the area. After the recent floods, a large number of people in GB are living in makeshift wooden houses and tents as their homes have been damaged by the flood.

Qurban Ali, head of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry appreciated the China-Pakistan Youth Exchange Community for its long-term help to Pakistan. The community was warmly received at the office of the GB Disaster Management Authority (GB-DMA). Deputy Director of the Authority Zaheer Uddin Babar briefed the community on the current situation in GB and the problems faced by the flood-hit people in the area. He expressed hope that the community could extend its cooperation with more public welfare organizations to assist the affected people.
Vice President of the Nagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Irshad Sadan thanked the community for the timely assistance extended by China to the people of GB.
“This event exhibits a strong brotherly relationship between Pakistan and China. China will assist them to rebuild their homes as soon as possible” Ma Bin, the focal person of the China-Pakistan Youth Exchange Community said.
