ISLAMABAD: China handed over the data of Pakistan’s ICUBE-Q satellite from the Chang’e-6 mission to Pakistan on May 10, strengthening aerospace cooperation between the iron-clad friends China and Pakistan. This marks a new practice in aerospace collaboration between the two countries, further solidifying their longstanding partnership in various sectors.
In an article, Jiang Zaidong, the Ambassador of China to Pakistan, highlighted the importance of this collaboration, emphasizing China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s development initiatives. Ambassador Jiang noted that China’s economy continues to show upward momentum, reaffirming its role as a key driver of global development. He expressed China’s readiness to leverage its new development opportunities to benefit its close friend, Pakistan.
The ambassador underscored the significance of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), particularly in light of Pakistan’s “5Es” framework for national development. He emphasized that the alignment of Pakistan’s development goals with China’s approach to promoting high-quality development through new productive forces bodes well for the future of their pragmatic cooperation.
Ambassador Jiang highlighted the achievements of CPEC Phase One, which have provided vital support for Pakistan’s economic and social progress. Notably, China has played a pivotal role in helping Pakistan develop renewable energy infrastructure, including wind farms, hydropower plants, and solar power stations. Currently, six additional hydropower stations are under construction as part of bilateral cooperation, contributing to Pakistan’s energy security and sustainability goals.
The steady supply of clean energy generated through these projects has bolstered Pakistan’s energy security and facilitated its economic growth. Ambassador Jiang emphasized that China remains committed to supporting Pakistan’s development endeavors and looks forward to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in various sectors under the CPEC framework.
