LONDON: China and Kuwait have inked seven memorandums of understanding (MoU) on large-scale construction projects, Arab media reported on Sunday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the MoUs were inked during Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s trip to Hangzhou at the invitation of Chinese leader Xi Jinping. It was the second meeting of the Crown Prince with President Xi since the Gulf Cooperation Council-China Summit in December.

As per media reports, Sheikh Mishal and President Xi also discussed means to expand bilateral ties during the trip.  President Xi said that Kuwait was the first Gulf nation to establish ties with China in 1971 and that the Kuwait Fund was helpful in providing loans to Beijing in the 1980s.
