BEIJING: China and India convened the 19th corps commander-level meeting round on August 13-14 at the Chushul–Moldo border crossing on the Indian side, said a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin.
He stated at his regular briefing that the two parties had a positive, productive, and in-depth discussion regarding resolving the outstanding issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Western Sector.
He claimed that in keeping with the leadership’s direction, they had an open and forward-thinking discussion about their points of view.
According to Wang Wenbin, the parties reached an agreement to settle any remaining concerns swiftly and to keep the pace of communication and negotiations going through military and diplomatic channels.
“In the interim, both sides agreed to maintain the peace and tranquility on the ground in the border areas,” he continued.
On April 23 of this year, the Chushul-Moldo border meeting site on the Chinese side hosted the 18th round of the China-India Corps Commander Level Meeting. —APP
