BEIJNG: China is keen to further expand cooperation with Pakistan in military training, joint exercises, and military technology and add new strength to the policy of maintaining peace and stability in the region, Chinese Defense Ministry Spokesman, Wu Qian said on Thursday.
The spokesman said that China was keen with Pakistan to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leadership of the two countries and maintain the momentum of high-level bilateral military exchanges.
He said that China would work to push bilateral cooperation with Pakistan in different fields and further consolidate the strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Strategic partners
He added that Pakistan and China had historic relations and are important strategic partners. The two countries have always cooperated and forged ahead as they are the “iron brothers”.
Wu Qian said that military ties are one of the most important pillars of bilateral relations. In recent years, both sides have continuously consolidated strategic coordination, enhanced their capacity to jointly deal with different risks and challenges, and maintain regional peace and stability.
