BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin on Friday praised President Asif Ali Zardari’s positive remarks regarding the strong relationship between Pakistan and China.
President Zardari, in a letter, had expressed gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping for congratulating him on his re-election as President of Pakistan.
Wang Wenbin highlighted President Zardari’s commitment to enhancing practical cooperation and strengthening the enduring partnership between the two countries. He said that President Zardari’s acknowledgment of the high-level relations between Pakistan and China is commendable.
“The ironclad friendship is a historical choice and the treasures for the two peoples. We are ready to work with Pakistan to carry forward our traditional friendship and build a China Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era,” he said during his regular briefing.
President Xi Jinping had previously congratulated President Zardari on his election, reaffirming the deep-rooted friendship and cooperation between China and Pakistan. Wang Wenbin reiterated China’s readiness to work closely with Pakistan to further develop their traditional friendship and build a shared future for both nations.
