BEIJING: China has called on Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to resolve their differences peacefully through consultation and talks, according to a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry.
“China’s stance on the three islands is consistent,” said Mao Ning, when addressing a question on the matter at a regular press briefing in Beijing.
Earlier, Iran’s ministry for foreign affairs has summoned the Chinese envoy in Tehran to protest regarding a China-UAE statement related to Iran’s sovereignty over three islands also claimed by the UAE, Iranian state media said.
