China Backs Pakistan’s Expanded Role in Global, Regional Affairs: Nong Rong

BEIJING: China’s Assistant Foreign Minister, Nong Rong, has affirmed China’s backing for Pakistan for an enhanced role in global and regional matters.

During a meeting with Ilyas Mehmood Nizami, Director General of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who traveled to China for the third China-Pakistan consultation on South Asian affairs, Nong Rong expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with Pakistan.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement stated that China is willing to strengthen the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries and accelerate the development of a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in this new era.

Pakistan-China friendship emphasized

Nong Rong emphasized the profound and enduring nature of the China-Pakistan friendship, describing it as “higher than mountains, deeper than oceans, and sweeter than honey.” The bilateral ties between the two nations have demonstrated robust momentum, marked by frequent high-level exchanges and continually expanding cooperation across diverse fields.

Regardless of shifts in the global landscape, he affirmed that China will always stand by Pakistan in supporting its national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and in promoting unity, stability, and prosperity. Additionally, Nong Rong conveyed his best wishes for the successful outcome of the third China-Pakistan consultation on South Asian affairs.
