ISLAMABAD: Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Wang Yi has said that China firmly supports its ally Pakistan in maintaining security and stability and achieving development and revitalization.
He said that China stands ready to assist to the best of its ability to help Pakistan overcome temporary difficulties.
Wang Yi made these remarks during a meeting with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the sidelines of the 59th Munich Security Conference, which opened on Friday.
China backs its all-weather ally Pakistan
He further said that China and Pakistan were “all-weather strategic cooperative allies” and “China-Pakistan friendship is rock solid.”
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto expressed satisfaction over the development of Pak-China relations.
“China is Pakistan’s all-weather ally, and “an important pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy is to strengthen relations with China and promote the construction of the CPEC”, he said.
He further said that Pakistan would firmly fight terrorism and spare no effort to ensure the safety of Chinese enterprises and citizens. The two sides also shared views on strengthening mutual support under the current international situation.
