BEIJING, China: China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced 22 new additions to its national-level tourist resorts list, increasing the total to 85.

These new sites are spread across 22 provincial regions and encompass various attractions, including rivers, lakes, mountains, coastal areas, and other landscapes.

The initiative, part of efforts to enhance tourism and optimize offerings, began in 2015 when China first recognized national-level tourist attractions. The selection process considers key factors such as infrastructure, operational efficiency, information services, and tourist satisfaction.

In 2022, China introduced a cultural development plan for 2021-2025, focusing on creating a diverse, high-quality tourism supply system. This plan aims to meet public needs and promote the integrated development of tourism and culture.
