ISLAMABAD: Marking the 8th anniversary, the children from the Pakistan Sweet Homes paid tribute to the martyrs of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar in a grand event full of emotions and love on Friday.

Students of sweet homes and cadet college Sihala presented songs, speeches, and tableau to remember the innocent victims of terrorists in APS Peshawar. Chief Justice Federal Sharia Court, Dr. Syed Muhammad Anwer was the chief guest at the ceremony. Students recreated the terrifying act of terrorism that occurred on December 16, 2014, when seven armed Taliban attacked APS killing 150 people, including 134 innocent students.

When the terrorists attacked children in the tableau presentation, everyone in the hall, including the Chief Justice, broke into tears. Young students also delivered speeches remembering the painful incident and said they would never forget the sacrifice made by APS martyrs.

“APS martyrs will remain alive in our hearts”

While speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zamurrad Khan said, “16th December was the black day in the history of Pakistan when we lost our children in the war of terrorism. However, their blood will not be washed away with time. We will remember them and will keep them alive in our hearts.”

He appreciated the role of the Pakistan Army in countering terrorism from Pakistan. He also remembered and paid tribute to the mothers of APS martyrs.

The Chief Justice of the Sharia Court presented a special song written by him to pay his tribute to the martyrs. He presented this song to the children of sweet home as a guideline and lesson to learn in their life. The song says, “Larna Nahi, humain parhna hai” (we don’t want to fight, we want to study). The song was also played at the ceremony.

Talking about the song, he said he started writing it back in 2008 but completed it in 2018 while keeping in mind the children of APS. He said, “Last night, when I got the invitation to this special event, I thought of presenting this song as a gift to children at sweet home.”

He also appreciated Sweet Homes for doing such a great social service of taking care of orphan children and providing them with education and a home.
