DUBAI: International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executive Geoff Allardice has said that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in Pakistan. The ICC chief confirmed that there are currently no plans to relocate the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 from Pakistan.
Speaking at a media briefing in Dubai, Geoff expressed satisfaction regarding the tournament’s venue. He said that the ICC continued to carryout regular trips to its member nations, including Pakistan, to ensure the successful hosting of cricket events. Despite past challenges, the ICC chief emphasized that all participating nations were committed to playing in Pakistan.
The Champions Trophy, known as the “Mini World Cup”, is set to feature 8 elite teams based on their performances in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Speaking with media persons, Geoff emphasized the ICC’s confidence in Pakistan’s capacity and ability to host the Champions Trophy and reiterated the ICC’s commitment to advancing international cricket development and engagement.
