RAWALPINDI: The newly appointed army chief Gen Asim Munir faces numerous security challenges including the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has ordered its terrorists to launch attacks across the country, ending a June ceasefire with the Pakistani government.
After the banned TTP’s announcement, the army may start preparations for a major military operation against the outfit, which has asked its cadre to carry out attacks across the country, posing a new challenge to the new army chief, who is expected to leave no stone unturned to safeguard the borders as well as internal law-and-order.
Sources said that the new army faces internal and external threats as the country is reeling under an economic meltdown.
The sources said that the new army chief has no personal agenda and Pakistan is his only agenda and he will lead by example.
Under the new army chief, the noose will be tightened around all those who pose a security threat to the country and every threat will be meted out with a befitting response.
The new chief will also attempt to maintain the neutral status of the army under his leadership, as the army faced a barrage of criticism over its alleged maneuvering.
