Chairman Pakistani Joint Chiefs of Staff Meets Omani Leadership to Strengthen Military Ties

RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JSCS) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza visited the Sultanate of Oman and met with both civil and military leadership, said Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement released on Thursday.

During his visit, General Shamshad Mirza met with Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq bin Taimur Al-Said, and the Minister of the Royal Office, General Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Namani.

He also held meetings with Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al-Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (COSSAF), as well as the Services Chiefs and the Chairman of the Strategic and Defense Academy.

In separate meetings, both sides discussed various aspects of military cooperation, including training, security, counter-terrorism, the defense industry, and the regional security environment. They recognized the shared perspectives on expanding military-to-military relationships and deepening strategic ties.

The Omani dignitaries also acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by the people and Armed Forces of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
