Chairman NDMA Stresses Multi-sectoral Assessment Survey During Pre-disaster Phase

ISLAMABAD: Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Thursday urged for multi-sectoral need assessment survey during the pre-disaster phase and the bolstering of District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) to provide safety to vulnerable groups from adverse impact of disasters. 

The NDMA organized an interactive session with Humanitarian Partners at National University of Sciences and Technology, National Humanitarian Network, and representatives of international non-governmental organizations, present in the meeting.

NDMA chairman shares Remodeled National Preparedness and Response Framework

The NDMA chairman shared the Remodeled National Preparedness and Response Framework in the meeting. He said that National Disaster Management Think Tank and Emergencies Operations Center would be the foundation stone of remodeled framework to transform the climate emergency response from reactive to proactive mode.

He also stressed the need for a technology-based early warning mechanism, the common operating picture for conducting simulation exercises to decrease the impact of natural disasters.
