RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on Wednesday called on Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon in Tajikistan during his official visit to the country.
Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), the Pak-Army media wing, stated in a statement that General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, held a meeting with Tajikistan’s President, Mr. Emomali Rahmon, known as the ‘Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation’. General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is on an official visit to Tajikistan.
ISPR reported that Chairman CJCSC also had separate meetings with various government and military leaders, and discussed various areas of mutual interest and concerns.
The meeting demonstrates that both countries shared a commitment to strengthening their defense and diplomatic ties in the interest of regional stability and security.
These meetings provided forums for in-depth conversations on subjects that were important to both Pakistan and Tajikistan, reported Pakistani media.
