LAHORE: Renowned actor Shaukat Zaidi passed away at the age of 72 after a protracted illness in Lahore on Saturday.
According to media reports, he was receiving the kidney treatment from a Lahore’s hospital. Apart from his prolific acting career, he also remained associated with journalism from 1970 to 1998. He had also written dramas for theatres.
Though he performed in many dramas, he stole the spotlight by performing characters in the renowned TV show “Hum Sub Umeed Se Hain”.
During the programme, he performed the character of a person representing the poorest segment of society.
