ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s lawyer, Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, has been booked in a case for physically assaulting Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Dr Afnan Ullah Khan amid a TV show a couple of days back.
Afnan Ullah lodged the first information report (FIR) at Islamabad’s Aabpara Police Station on Saturday stating that Sher Afzal Marwat attacked him during the talk show where he had been invited as a guest.
The FIR further maintained that Marwat threatened to kill him as videos and other evidence of the incident were available. “During the heated debate, Sher Afzal Marwat suddenly attacked me and tried to hit me and also threatened that I would face consequences and he would not spare me and gave life threats,” Afnan stated in the FIR.
Earlier during the scuffle between Afnan and Marwat the set of a private television channel looked like a wrestling ring in a video that became viral on social media, showing the two political leaders scuffling violently after a heated argument. Later the TV show crew intervened and separated both the politicians.

Meanwhile, Sher Afzal Marwat is also flexing mussels to file a defamation case against Afnan-Ullah. He also criticized the host of the issue for misinterpreting the incident. In a post, he claimed that the TV show host (Javed Chaudry) was “spreading misinformation” about the “unpleasant incident”.
“He (the host) is spreading rumours that my opponent was a Superman. He is not telling the reality which is that Afnan Ullah ran away from the studio and took shelter in a nearby room, which I came to know after watching his program today,” Marwat said.
Marwat added that he plans to “initiate a defamation case and criminal complaint” against the PML-N leader.
