ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar offered insights into the recently held general elections, emphasizing the resilience of Pakistan’s democratic fabric despite security challenges. In an interview with Turkish broadcaster TRT, Prime Minister Kakar commended voters for exercising their constitutional rights, highlighting the nation’s vibrant democracy in the face of adversity.

Reflecting on the electoral process, Prime Minister Kakar underscored the caretaker government’s primary responsibility of ensuring security, particularly in light of terrorist incidents in Balochistan preceding the elections. Addressing concerns about the fairness of the elections, Prime Minister Kakar asserted that despite security challenges, the democratic exercise proceeded unhindered, with voters bravely turning out to cast their ballots. He dismissed criticisms regarding the suspension of mobile services, affirming that it did not impede the electoral process, as evidenced by the substantial voter turnout.

In response to queries regarding political transitions and the functioning of democracy in Pakistan, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional principles and fostering pragmatic arrangements between institutions. He called for a balanced approach that prioritizes the larger interests of the population while navigating power dynamics within the political landscape.

Looking ahead, Prime Minister Kakar expressed optimism for political stability and anticipated the formation of a coalition government, underscoring the need for constructive negotiations among political parties. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition of power and wished for the prosperity and well-being of the people of Pakistan.
