Caretaker PM Kakar Leads Review Meeting on Civil Officers Appointments

ISLAMABAD: A significant review meeting under the leadership of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar to discuss the appointment of civil officers and special quotas on Friday.

The meeting witnessed the participation of key figures, including Adviser to Prime Minister Ahad Khan Cheema, the Secretary to Prime Minister, Secretary Establishment, and the Secretary of the Federal Public Service Commission.

The meeting commenced with a comprehensive briefing on the recently conducted Special Competitive Examination, commonly known as the Special CSS. It was revealed that this examination attracted the participation of over 15,000 candidates, with an impressive turnout of more than 3,500 individuals hailing from Balochistan.

The examination also featured an allocation of over 60 vacancies reserved for the Balochistan quota.

In response to these developments, the Prime Minister issued a set of significant directives. First and foremost, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of regularly conducting competitive examinations for government recruitment to effectively address the vacancies reserved for individuals from minority groups and those belonging to backward areas.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister underscored the need for proactive awareness campaigns to promote the active participation of individuals from minority communities in competitive examinations. The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the constitution and laws of Pakistan unequivocally grant equal rights and development opportunities to both minorities and individuals from economically disadvantaged regions.

The commitment of the government of Pakistan to provide equal development opportunities to every citizen was reiterated by the Prime Minister. This directive reflects the government’s unwavering dedication to fostering inclusivity and equitable progress for all segments of the population.

Additionally, the Prime Minister called for the establishment of a comprehensive policy governing the placement of competent civil officers in remote and underserved areas across the country, with a particular focus on Balochistan. This policy is aimed at ensuring that highly capable officers are deployed to regions in need.

Moreover, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of reinstating the rotation policy for civil officers in accordance with its original spirit and stressed the necessity for its strict and unwavering implementation. This directive underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining a merit-based and efficient civil service while addressing the specific needs of various regions within the country.

The review meeting serves as a significant step towards enhancing the effectiveness and fairness of government recruitment processes and is aligned with Pakistan’s broader commitment to promoting equal opportunity and development for all its citizens.
