ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on a two-day visit to Muzaffarabad.
This visit carries significant symbolism as a gesture of solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in response to the recent endorsement by the Indian Supreme Court of India’s unilateral and illegal actions regarding the status of Jammu and Kashmir.
During his visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, where he will be accorded a guard of honour. Addressing the Legislative Assembly, he is expected to convey messages of support and unity.
An important aspect of the visit includes a visit to the martyrs’ memorial, where the Prime Minister will pay respects by laying a floral wreath. This gesture underlines the recognition of the sacrifices made by individuals in the struggle for the rights and freedom of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Additionally, Caretaker PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is slated to chair a meeting of the Cabinet of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, fostering discussions on matters of mutual interest and strategic importance.
The visit emphasizes the importance of diplomatic engagements and expressions of solidarity in the face of regional developments, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to the cause of Jammu and Kashmir.
