ISLAMABAD: In a passionate plea for global peace and religious harmony, Dr. Sardar Muhammad Tahir Tabassum, the President of the Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD), an international organization dedicated to these noble ideals, has called for the protection of Al Aqsa Mosque, often referred to as the first Qibla, and securing the rights of the Palestinian and Kashmiri people.
His message carries profound implications not only for the Middle East and South Asia but also for the broader global landscape.
Dr. Tabassum’s statement, issued from Islamabad, carries a strong and clear message: “Peace-loving nations and countries should play an effective role in establishing peace in the Middle East and South Asia by resolving the Palestine and Kashmir issues.” He underscores the urgent need for action, as these two long-standing conflicts have had profound regional and global ramifications.
The INSPAD President does not mince words when addressing the recent events in Gaza. He condemns Israel’s chemical weapons bombings and the horrific massacre of civilians as acts that not only defy humanity but are also deeply reprehensible. In light of these grave circumstances, he calls upon international bodies such as the United Nations and the Red Cross, as well as various relief agencies, to provide immediate and essential assistance, including medical treatment, clean water, alternative housing, and other necessary facilities to the affected population.

His appeal extends to influential nations and organizations, urging the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Arab League, China, Russia, Germany, Iran, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia to exert their collective influence to compel Israel to establish a ceasefire. Dr. Tabassum wisely recognizes the potential volatility of the situation and warns that it may spiral out of control if decisive action is not taken promptly.
Furthermore, he voices a harsh reality that has often been overlooked in the global discourse. Despite the loss of a significant number of innocent lives, including children and women, and the displacement of countless individuals in Gaza, the world’s conscience has not been sufficiently stirred. Dr. Tabassum highlights the need to address the stark double standards that exist in global politics, emphasizing that a more balanced approach is imperative to prevent a clash of civilizations.
Dr. Sardar Muhammad Tahir Tabassum’s impassioned appeal is a call for conscience, compassion, and concerted global action. It reverberates with the urgency of addressing longstanding conflicts and advocating for peace, human rights, and justice, not only in the regions of Palestine and Kashmir but also as a cornerstone of global stability and harmony.
