ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) senior leader Asad Umar has said that Sunday’s by-elections are part of the struggle for ‘real freedom’, as polling continues for eight National Assembly and three Punjab Assembly seats.
During a media talk, Umar said that Election Commission’s performance was biased and his party did not expect anything positive from the institution.
He said that his party’s leadership was receiving news of misconduct in different constituencies and urged PTI voters to go and cast votes alongside their families.
The former finance minister said that independent experts are predicting Imran Khan’s return to prime minister office if the current polls are conducted transparently.
He added that the current government has failed to uplift the country’s economy and there were indications from international market that Pakistan could default.
Polling is underway for the crucial by-elections in which PTI Chairman Imran Khan is contesting on seven out of eight seats of National Assembly.
